Video: Staying Healthy While at School

With all the germs going around schools, it can be hard to stay healthy. Here are some tips from student vlogger Jordan-Paige to help you avoid getting sick.

It’s easy for germs and sicknesses to spread at schools with students packed in classrooms together, especially during the winter. If you aren’t learning remotely and are attending class in person, you need to make sure you’re taking precautions (especially with COVID-19) to make sure you stay healthy. Check out these tips from student vlogger Jordan-Paige to learn how she stays healthy while surrounded by other students.

How to stay healthy at school

Keeping yourself healthy may seem like a no-brainer, but sometimes we forget about the simple things we can do to prevent sickness. After all, we don’t often think about getting sick until we’re already there. Here are some preventative measures you can take in your day-to-day life to avoid getting sick:

  • Take your vitamins
  • Drink tea to help your immune system and anxiety
  • Use hand sanitizer
  • Use a face mask if you’re sick or in public (whether it’s COVID-19 or a cold, wearing a mask can help you and others stay healthy)
  • Get plenty of rest and sleep
  • Find ways to manage your stress levels
  • Don’t drink other people’s drinks
  • Wash your hands

Sometimes we can’t prevent illness altogether, and you may catch a cold or stomach bug here or there—but by taking these steps, you’re less likely to catch something, and you can help slow the spread of sickness to others. Right now, it’s more important than ever to be cautious when it comes to spreading germs, especially in classrooms. Stay healthy!

I love that CollegeXpress has helped me find some scholarships to apply for but also helped me succeed in school with lots of tips. I also really like how they consistently email me about webinars that teach me a lot of things from the comfort of my home!

CollegeXpress has helped me tremendously during my senior year of high school. I started off using the college search to find more information about the universities I was interested in. Just this tool alone gave me so much information about a particular school. It was my one-stop shop to learn about college. I was able to find information about college tuition, school rank, majors, and so much more that I can't list it all. The college search tool has helped me narrow down which college I want to attend, and it made a stressful process surprisingly not so stressful. I then moved to the scholarship search tool to find scholarships to apply for because I can't afford to pay for tuition myself. The search tool helped me find scholarships that I was eligible for. The tool gave me all the information I could ever need about a particular scholarship that was being offered. The CollegeXpress scholarship search tool is so much better than other tools offered, like the Chegg scholarship search. Thanks to CollegeXpress, I was able to apply to tons of scholarships in a relatively easy way!

CollegeXpress helped me narrow my school choices down from 10 schools to four and then two. It also gave me information on a school I had never heard about or thought about attending until now, which is the school I will be attending in the fall. I am thankful for CollegeXpress and its helpful tools.

CollegeXpress has provided me with tips that were for college students, but as a high school junior, they were still very useful. Not only that, it also gave me an idea of what to expect when it comes to going to college or already being in college. I want to say thank you to CollegeXpress, and I hope you continue the wonderful tips until I hopefully get into college and throughout my college journey.

I wanted a school that wasn't too far away from home and could provide me with a full-ride scholarship. CollegeXpress helped me put into perspective the money I had to pay to attend those schools, which ultimately drove me to choose to attend a community college first to get used to being in college before transferring to the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor, one of the colleges I was able to research further on CollegeXpress.
